Among the painters closest to Caravaggio was, without a doubt, Bartolomeo Manfredi, by whom 4 paintings of a sacred nature are exhibited here; one can clearly see his ability and main characteristic of setting religious stories into a naturalistic, contemporary environment.
Until some years ago, another work by this artist existed, the Musical Concert, but it was unfortunately destroyed in the car bomb attack on Via dei Georgofili in 1993.
