There are two masterpieces by the artist Correggio in this room: Rest on the Flight to Egypt with Saint Francis and the Adoration of the Child.
Correggio shows having known the Roman works of Raphael and, through him, the style of Leonardo, hereby combining them with his distinctive and typically northern-style strokes, such as the atmospheric effects of light and shadows, foreshortened views and the representation of the human figure immersed in the air.
